Restorative Practices are a system of principles and processes that build and  sustain a culture of kindness, respect, responsibility and justice.  This is achieved through emphasizing the importance of trusting relationships as central to building community and repairing relationships when harm has occurred.  

Steps to Implementing a Restorative Justice Program

o Prioritizing & Planning -Assess the readiness for implementation. A plan is created from data, priorities and needs. 

o Training – Restorative Justice basics, dialogue & conferencing facilitation, conflict & anger management, volunteer recruiting & retaining.

o Coaching –Support and resources are provided throughout the year.

o Evaluating – Looking at the integrity of your processes and those who facilitate. 

o Funding – Provide the program write-up and/or letters of support.
