Program Implementation

Want to start up a restorative justice program?
Already have a restorative justice program in place?

These steps can be customized to fit your program needs.

Decide on how many months are needed based on size of staff & experience.

  • Our recommendation is a minimum of 1 year.  We refer to implementation science as a model process.

Complete contract

  • We have our standard service agreement that we use or we can use your organization's if needed.

Conduct a Readiness Assessment

  • The results of the Readiness Assessment will determine the best strategy for implementation.
  • Selected individuals that best represent the culture will be identified.
  • Results from information collected will be debriefed, measured and data managed. The results will be shared with key leaders.
  • At the end of year-one a repeat Readiness Assessment will be administered to determine growth and need.

Introduce Restorative Justice

  • Provide a meeting to inform staff, community and all those that will be impacted.

Assemble a Core Team of RJ leaders

  • These leaders will support ongoing RJ in the organization as facilitators and advocates that creates sustainability.
  • Quarterly follow-up meetings/training to discuss needs, challenges and successes.

Conduct Training

  • A training curriculum will be tailored to the needs and results from the Readiness Assessment and evaluations.
  • Train-the-Trainer for RJ facilitation and community member training.
  • Booster training can be offered for new staff.

Coaching one-on-one

  • Facilitation coaching
  • Overcoming outlier resistance

Restorative Justice Program Check-up

It’s important to include evaluation in your plans to implement RJ, no

matter where. You want to look at the integrity of your processes and

those who facilitate, satisfaction rates, how relationships changed, how

harms were repaired, adherence to agreements, and the larger impacts

           RJ makes on your community.

At the end of year-one of implementation a celebration event will be created to acknowledge the success of the program and for those who made it happen.
